SPACE projects | residency lab | store (the former Gallery Priestor for Contemporary Arts) is a curated project space focusing on the permanent scanning and presentation of the most innovative and experimental forms of contemporary art. Our mission is to create an interactive space for the communication between the audience and contemporary art and to initiate international cooperation and exchanges as well as to help to develop the local art scene.
From the curatorial point of view, the programme is focused on questioning conventional communication strategies and designs and as for the media scale it is mainly a presentation of public art, video art, sound art, light art, computer art, but also painting, installation and site specific art. 
The founder of the gallery and the main curator of projects is Juraj Čarný, project managers and curators are Ivana Madariová and Katarina Slaninová.

Selection of projects

• BILLBOART GALLERY EUROPE - international public art project realized in co-operation with local partners within 12 European countries /www.billboart.org/.
• CRAZYCURATORS BIENNALE – project of international co-operation amongst European experimental galleries going on from the year 2003, which in 2006 led to initiation of biennale and Crazycurators Award.
• SPACE RESIDENCY LAB is the first residency programme in Bratislava, focused on supporting  artists, who come to live and work on the premises of our gallery to confrontate with local genius loci and enrich the local art scene.
• RENTART - art works rental project /www.rentart..sk/.
• Flash Art CZ/SK  - in co-operation with Giancarlo Politi Editore and Prague Biennale Foundation we supported the formation of Czech and Slovak edition of magazine FLASH ART /www.flashartonline.com/ and we regularly participate in the preparation of the biggest international contemporary art show in Central Europe - Prague Biennale /www.praguebiennale.org/.
• Evolution de L´Art – in 2007 in co-operation with Cesare Pietroiusti we launched the project of the commercial gallery focused on sale of immaterial works.
• nomadSPACE | Potulná galéria - in co-operation with British project Truck Art we founded new Central European gallery realizing exhibition activities in the space of a small truck.

What is our history?

SPACE has existed since 1999 and initiated 2 international networks - Billboart Gallery Europe and Crazycurators.org, organised over 100 exhibitions, 5 international conferences, 30 foreign presentations, 17 lectures, and 18 performances, concerts and other actions.
